On July 25, Han Jung-suk, senior supervisor of MEIC, Korean Register came to Shanghai International Shipping Institute (SISI). He was warmly received by Prof. Zhen Hong, secretary-general of SISI, Zhang Yongfeng, director of International Shipping Research Department, Han Jun and Zheng Jingwen, both researchers of International Shipping Research Department. Zhen Hong extended welcome to the Korean guest and gave a brief introduction of SISI’s results achieved in recent years in the fields of shipping market analysis, consulting services carried out for government agencies and industry players and international exchanges and cooperation while Mr. Han talked about MEIC, the main business it’s about to engage in, Korean shipbuilding and shipping market and operation situation of Korean shipping companies. Both sides had a heated discussion on such issues as freight index making on various routes, future trend of shipping market, new opportunities brought about by One Belt, One Road Initiative and expressed willingness to further enhance contact and cooperation.
