Third-Party logistics provider (3PL) Damco has appointed Alain Ventura as its country manager for Malaysia and Singapore, responsible for all aspects of logistics and freight forwarding.
    "Damco has a strong foothold in Singapore and Malaysia, providing customers with supply chain management solutions for more than 20 years now. Moving forwards, we want to do more for our customers by customising better and more efficient solutions to meet their needs," said Mr Ventura in a company statement.
    He joins Damco, a Maersk unit, with 20 years of logistics experience, having worked in Asia, Europe and the US in different managerial roles. Based in Singapore, Mr Ventura reports to Tony Hotine, chief executive officer for Damco in Asia Pacific.
    "Alain has the local knowledge and hands-on experience required for strengthening our business in Malaysia and Singapore, two important markets for Damco in Asia Pacific," Mr Hotine said.
