DHL Express has commenced new direct flights from Cincinnati in the US to Panama City, using Boeing 757 aircraft with a payload of 30 tonnes.
The move is intended to reduce transit times by one day from Panama to the US, Canada, Asia and the Caribbean.
CEO Stephen Fenwick was cited as saying by IFW that Panama was gaining attention as an "economic powerhouse" in Latin America and a major logistics centre.
"Connecting our customers along this key trade route gives businesses valuable access to and from the fastest-growing economy in Latin America," he said.
