Davies Turner, a British independent freight and logistics firm since 1870, has been listed in the latest Sunday Times HSBC Top Track 250, according to the company's release.
    The company was also ranked 237th in the annual league table of Britain's biggest mid-market independent companies and has developed a network of more than 20 freight hubs throughout the UK and Ireland.
    "To be the only freight forwarder among Britain's biggest mid-market independents makes me very proud on behalf of all our staff and is a testimony to the massive investment that we have made in our facilities, services and training over the last 20 years," said the chairman Philip Stephenson.
    Davies Turner offers versatile multimodal freight transport and logistics services for a wide clientele, including manufacturers, traders, retailers, international freight forwarders, governments and international aid agencies.
    The 250 companies on the Sunday Times list employ more than half a million people and generate a turnover of GBP65 billion (US$102.04 billion) or five per cent of Britain's GDP.
