SPOT rates for shipping containers from
Asia to northern Europe in the week ending Friday increased by 5.7 per
cent to US$944 per TEU.
Asia-Mediterranean rates ticked up 1.2
per cent to $1,096 per TEU after soaring by more than 40 per cent last
week, according to the Shanghai Containerised Freight Index (SCFI).
Rates from Shanghai to US west coast were down 2 per cent to $1,342 per
FEU while China-US east coast declined 2.4 per cent to $2,451 per FEU.
