SOUTH Korea's Hyundai Heavy Industries Group plans to win US$15.9 billion worth of new orders in 2020. The total
will come from the combined orders of its shipbuilding units Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI), Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries and Hyundai Mipo Dockyard (HMD).
HHI itself aims to attract $8 billion
worth of deals this year, while HMD and Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries
are aiming for $3.65 billion and $4.25 billion respectively, reported
Seatrade Maritime News, Colchester, UK.
Last year the group secured orders worth $12 billion to build 135
vessels, achieving 76 per cent of its annual target of $15.9 billion.
During the last week of 2019, HMD and Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries
clinched deals worth $293 million in total to build six ships, including
four 1,800 TEU feeder vessels and two mega box ships.
