Date:2023-06-05 Readers:
UK's Peel Ports Group has announced an investment of about US$34.5 million in a new facility at the Port of Liverpool, according to Container News.

The company's largest single storage investment in the current year aims to a nearly 22,300-square-metres warehouse, which is expected to be built at Peel Port's Alexandra Dock.

The construction of the new facility, Alexandra Dock Multi-User Warehouse (MUW), is expected to begin in the coming days. The new warehouse will have a length of up to 400 metres and will be utiliszd for cargo processing and storage at the UK major port.

UK-based construction company Glencar will carry out the work, which is scheduled to be finished in April 2024.

The storage facility will be capable of storing a wide range of goods, both unitized and non-unitized, that require indoor storage, according to Peel Ports' statement.

As part of the planned construction, the facility will include 300 metres of dedicated quayside and "cutting-edge cranes" to improve vessel discharge.
