On 24 September 2023, the 8^th Edition of Port Authorities Roundtable PAR2023@SHANGHAI was successfully held in Shanghai, which was initiated globally by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore and hosted for the first time in Shanghai. Leaders and guests from 17 major port administrations at home and abroad attended the conference, including the Port of Singapore, the Port of Hamburg, the Port of Gothenburg, the Port of Yokohama and the Port of Long Beach. Zhen Hong, Director of the Academic Committee of Shanghai International Shipping Institute, and Zhao Nan, Deputy Secretary-General of SISI, were invited to attend the conference.

During the conference, Shanghai Port signed a memorandum of understanding with the Port of Singapore, the Port of Hamburg and the Port of Long Beach on deepening port friendship relations. Professor Zhen Hong was invited to chair the seminar on "Development Trends of Global Port Shipping Industry in the Post-epidemic Era", and Deputy Secretary-General Zhao Nan delivered a keynote speech on "Future Port Development Trends" at the seminar.
