Duffy launches trans-Pacific air service
Date:2024-04-17 Readers:
The launch of this strategic air route signals that Duffy Air Cargo is accelerating its growth.

Today (16 April), Duffy announced that its subsidiary CMA CGM AIR CARG will launch operations in the summer of 2024 on a trans-Pacific route from Asia to North America.

The launch of this strategic air cargo route signifies that Duffy Air Cargo is accelerating its growth.

According to the report, Duffy will take delivery of two Boeing B777-200Fs this year, both of which will be deployed on the trans-Pacific route to ensure that the capacity requirements of the new route are met. The flights will be operated by Atlas Air.

The first aircraft is scheduled for delivery in June this year to ensure that it will be able to operate on the Hong Kong, Chicago and Seoul airports in time for the peak season. The second aircraft will be delivered in the fourth quarter of this year.

In addition, in the first quarter of 2025, Duffy Air Cargo will welcome a third Boeing B777-200F freighter to further strengthen its fleet and provide customers with more comprehensive network coverage and capacity support.

With the delivery of eight Airbus A350F freighters in 2026, Duffy Air Cargo is expected to own and operate a global air cargo network to meet the global logistics needs of its air cargo customers.

As the inaugural customer of the Airbus A350 Freighter, Duffy Air Cargo has chosen the most environmentally friendly aircraft on the market, further emphasising Duffy's commitment to sustainable development in the transport industry.

The Airbus A350F is known to emit 20 per cent less carbon dioxide than its direct competitors. In addition, the Airbus A350 will be the only large freighter to comply with the International Civil Aviation Organisation's (ICAO) CO2 emission standards, which will come into force in 2028.

Damien Mazaudier, Chief Executive Officer of Duffy Air Cargo, said: "The launch of the trans-Pacific route, which opens up a new continent for our air cargo network, is an important turning point in the company's history and demonstrates Duffy's ambition to offer our customers a complete range of solutions. With this new route, we will be able to offer our customers more coverage on key routes, marking the latest development in our plans to globalise our business. By 2026, with the delivery of the Airbus A350F, the most environmentally friendly freighter on the market, we will have taken another big step forward in the development of our business."

Only three years old, Duffy Air Cargo is already well recognised in the market for its expertise in scheduled flights (12 weekly flights from Paris to Greater China and India), charter flights and out-chartering, with a fleet of market-leading aircraft and a team of airfreight service professionals.

Duffy Air Cargo has a dedicated booking system and a team of specialists able to provide a full range of transport solutions for sensitive cargo such as dangerous goods, temperature-controlled cargo, perishable cargo, live animals and high-value cargo.

Duffy Air Cargo said its fleet of two Boeing B777F freighters and three Airbus A330F freighters is based at its Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) hub.

The two Boeing B777F freighters operate on the Europe-Greater China route: five weekly flights to Hong Kong and four weekly flights to Shanghai.

Of the three Airbus A330F freighters currently in the fleet, two are leased out and the third operates three weekly flights on the Paris-Charles de Gaulle-Mumbai-Guangzhou route.
