PSA International and Liaoning Port Group Sign Strategic Co-operation Agreement

Recently, PSA China Pte Ltd and Liaoning Port Co Ltd signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement in Singapore. The two sides will focus on container terminals, port ancillary services, new energy development and construction and other areas to further strengthen cooperation, and actively build a green ecological port circle in the Liaoning region. Hao Peng, Secretary of Liaoning Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Standing Committee of Liaoning Provincial People's Congress, Leng Xuefeng, Vice Mayor of Dalian, Li Guofeng, General Manager of Liaoning Port Group, Wang Jinbang, President of PSA International, and Lin Jinchuan, President of PSA Northeast Asia, and other high-level leaders of the two sides were present and witnessed the signing ceremony.

Recently, Hao Peng, Secretary of Liaoning Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Standing Committee of Liaoning Provincial People's Congress, led the Liaoning Friendship Economic and Trade Delegation to visit Singapore. The delegation visited Singaporean government departments and key enterprises, had in-depth exchanges with Singaporean politicians and businessmen, promoted practical cooperation, and made contributions to the healthy development of Sino-Singaporean relations.

During the period in Singapore, Secretary Hao Peng and Liaoning Provincial Party Committee Deputy Secretary General Wang Luwei, Director of Liaoning Provincial Development and Reform Commission Li Pengyu, Deputy Mayor of Dalian City Leng Xuefeng, General Manager of Liao Harbour Group Li Guofeng and his party visited PSA International Port Group, which consists of PSA Group President Wang Jinbang, President of PSA Northeast Asia Lim Jinchuan, PSA Northeast Asia Finance Director Li Jinpei, PSA Northeast Asia Sustainable Development PSA Northeast Asia Finance Director Li Jinpei, PSA Northeast Asia Sustainable Development Director Xu Jiesheng, Dalian Container Terminal Executive Deputy General Manager Song Fushan and other people accompanied the visit. During the visit, PSA introduced to the delegation the layout and strategic development of PSA's global terminal and related business, and the two sides indicated that they would jointly explore and promote the development of co-operation projects in the field of ports in Dalian and other cities in Liaoning Province.

PSA and the Port of Dalian have a history of co-operation spanning nearly 30 years. In 1996, PSA and the Dalian Port Authority established the Dalian Container Terminal Co. The terminal is the first port enterprise invested and co-operated by PSA in China, and also the first port enterprise invested by PSA outside Singapore.On 8 November 2017, after the integration of the three container terminals in Dalian Port, PSA became the second largest shareholder of DCT. Since the establishment of Liaoning Port Group, PSA International and DCT have maintained a good cooperative relationship, and the signing of this strategic cooperation agreement marks a new level of cooperation between the two sides. In the future, both parties will give full play to their respective resource advantages, continue to collaborate efficiently, and continue to optimise the investment layout of both parties in container terminals, port ancillary services and other sectors. The two sides will jointly build a green ecological model terminal in Liaoning region, help Liaoning regional terminal energy saving and emission reduction, and jointly explore the green and low-carbon co-development of the whole supply chain with the port as the key hub. At the same time, the two sides will further work together to promote the development of international shipping hubs in Liaoning ports, deepen cooperation in international trade supply chain, digital platforms and other areas, and cultivate international talents, so as to jointly help Liaoning Port Group to build a first-class green and intelligent hub ports.
