Since then, Qingdao Port has been deeply implementing Xi Jinping's thought of ecological civilization, practicing the concept of green and sustainable development, strictly implementing the Ministry of Transport's "Action Plan on Demonstrating the Use of Shore Power for Container Ships and Cruise Ships Calling at Ports on International Routes", taking ecological environmental protection as the starting point and the promotion and application of shore power as the launching point, adhering to the principle of "connecting to the fullest", focusing on the application of high-voltage shore power for container ships to improve quality and increase the quantity of shore power, with meticulous management and strong measures, and improving the quality of shore power operation. In August 2022, the world's largest 400,000-ton super-mining ship "Mingqing" was successfully connected to the terminal shore power, marking China's ports in the world's first to achieve the 400,000-ton super-mining ship throughout the application of shore power, so far, the cumulative number of receiving ships 24 times; in the case of general cargo ships, on March 31, 2024, the COSCO In terms of general cargo ships, on 31st March 2024, COSCO Shipping's vessel "Tianshou" completed the application of shore power and connected 16,700kWh of electricity, creating a new era of high-voltage shore power application for general cargo ships in Shandong ports.
While high-voltage shore power is breaking through, low-voltage shore power is also improving. Terminal berthing small ships adhering to the principle of connecting as much as possible, all-round promotion of low-voltage shore power application, January to April 2024, low-voltage shore power connection 1595 times, up 31% year-on-year, the amount of 640,000kWh, up 94% year-on-year; Hong Kong tugs and other ships berthing period 100% use of shore power, since 2024, the amount of 1.43 millionkWh shore power connection, and effectively reduce tugboat exhaust emissions. The power supply of shore power is 1.43 million kWh since 2024, effectively reducing the exhaust emission of tugboats.
