OSLO's MPC Container Ships has conducted a naming ceremony for its two latest vessels, the Mackenzie and the Colorado, reports Melbourne's Baird Maritime.
Each boasting a capacity of 5,500 TEU, these ships feature hull designs that aim to reduce fuel consumption by up to 40 per cent.
Furthermore, Mackenzie and Colorado are engineered for potential conversion to operate on methanol fuel, aligning with MPC's commitment to sustainability.
The adoption of green methanol could potentially slash emissions by as much as 90 per cent.
Scheduled for delivery later this year, the vessels will, upon completion, embark on seven-year charters with Zim.
