The first phase of COSCO Shipping Port Peru Qiankai Terminal Project is to construct 4 berths, including 2 container berths, 1 general purpose berth and 1 multi-purpose berth and its ancillary facilities, with a total length of 1,500 metres, and a maximum reliable berth for 200,000-tonne class container ships. At present, the construction progress is about 80%, creating more than 9,000 direct and indirect jobs for local residents.

Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industry supplied 6 sets of remote-controlled shore bridges, 15 sets of double-cantilever automated rail cranes, 3 sets of bulk cargo gantries and 3 sets of multi-purpose gantries for the first phase of COSCO Shipping Port Qiankai Terminal Project. The arrival of the first batch of automated port machinery equipment marks a critical step in the construction of the project. The introduction of these equipments lays the foundation for the modernisation and intelligent operation of Qiankai Port, and also fills the gap of automated port loading and unloading equipments in South America.

The rated lifting capacity of the arrival of the rail crane is 41 tonnes, with a span of 31 metres and a lifting height of 18.5 metres. It is equipped with advanced equipment management, video monitoring, intelligent identification, situational monitoring and other systems, and innovatively adopts the 8-rope anti-shaking system, which reduces the pressure on the wheels of the equipment and ensures the stability of the operation at the same time. The equipment is manufactured in an environmentally friendly and energy-saving way, with all water-based fluorocarbon paint coating process and no benzene volatile substances; the lighting system is fully upgraded to LED, with lower energy consumption under the same illumination conditions, making the whole machine manufacturing and use process more low-carbon and environmentally friendly.
