On August 11, at No. 1 pier of Qingdao Dagang Port, after completing the supervision procedures for entry and exit vessels, the ocean-going research vessel “Deep Sea No. 1” undid the cable and departed from the border, carrying the manned submersible “Jiaolong” and formally starting a 45-day scientific research trip to the Western Pacific Ocean.
“As China's first manned submersible support mother ship, the research vessel can not only provide appropriate underwater and surface support for the deep-diving operation of Jiaolong, but also has the ability to process and analyze data and samples on-site, which can be continuously and efficiently applied to deep-sea resources exploration, deep-sea research and other scientific studies. It can be applied to deep-sea resource exploration, deep-sea research and other scientific research tasks in a sustained and efficient manner, significantly enhancing China's ability and level of fine exploration of oceanic resources and environment, and is of great significance to safeguarding China's maritime rights and interests.
In order to ensure the smooth customs clearance of the research vessel “Deep Sea No. 1”, Qingdao Dagang Customs intervened in advance, understood the health status of the crew and research team members, voyage plan and other information in time, carried out boarding quarantine and health supervision at the first time after the vessel docked at the pier, issued the “Certificate of Exemption from Hygiene Control Measures for Vessels” and relied on the “Single Window” to ensure the smooth customs clearance of the research vessel. Relying on the “Single Window”, paperless processing was carried out for the business of loading and unloading and addition of materials, which provided a strong guarantee for the smooth departure of the research vessel.
