Recently, Jiangsu New Hantong Shipbuilding Heavy Industry has named and delivered the first ship of 82,000 DWT bulk carrier project ‘Shandong Xinde’ built for Shandong Shipping, marking the first batch of green and low-carbon dry bulk carriers in China to meet the ‘double-three’ emission standard and put into actual operation.
The naming and delivery of the Kamusa-type bulk carrier is the first ship of Shandong Shipping's 12 82,000 DWT bulk carrier project, which is designed and equipped with a main engine that meets the IMO Tier III NOx emission standard and the EEDI three-phase energy-efficiency standard, and is the first batch of bulk orders in China that meets the ‘double-three’ emission standard. The project integrates high-quality resources in the upstream and downstream of the shipping industry chain through green financial links, involving nearly 1 million deadweight tonnes of ship assets, and has created the first case of a newly-built bulk carrier equipped with a fully independent intellectual property rights on-board carbon capture system in China, which has been awarded the AIP certificate by the China Classification Society (CCS), and formed a new type of ship science and technology innovation and transformation and application system led by green finance.
Chen Jiangguang, general manager of Shandong Ocean Group, said that Shandong Ocean Group, as a provincial platform of Shandong Province for ocean strategy, has laid out the modern ocean shipping logistics, inland port and navigation investment and operation, modern marine fisheries, offshore engineering services, marine science and technology, sea-related financial services and other industrial fields, and has developed into a comprehensive marine industry group with an important industry position and influence. In the field of modern ocean shipping, it has formed a new pattern of high-quality development with dry bulk and liquid bulk ocean shipping as the main body and the synergistic development of shipping finance and shipping services, and its control capacity ranks the third in China and the first at the provincial level. It is hoped that all parties to the project will continue to consolidate the partnership, further strengthen resource sharing and strategic synergy, and continuously develop the field of cooperation, so as to jointly contribute to the construction of a strong maritime nation.
