THE Port of Tianjin aims to increase its container throughput from 23 million TEU in 2024 to 35 million TEU in 2035, representing its commitment to be a world-class shipping hub, reports UK's Seatrade Maritime News.
According to the development plan, Tianjin port will expand its large vessel handing capacity, strengthen its pivotal role in maritime trade, support the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and promote the construction of China's Belt and Road Initiative.
To further upgrade port infrastructure, Tianjin port will construct five navigation channels, which will be able to accommodate 300,000 tonnes-class vessels.
