Chinese manufacturer GENMA has delivered the first four hybrid rubber-tyred gantry cranes (RTGs) to a customer in Bangladesh, marking a step toward greener port operations, reports Saint Petersburg's PortNews.
The cranes were shipped in knocked-down condition and will be transported inland for final assembly and commissioning. GENMA completed the first batch within seven months of project launch.
The remaining ten RTGs will be delivered fully assembled to another terminal operated by the same customer, according to the company.
The hybrid RTGs feature energy-saving technology designed to reduce carbon emissions and enhance environmental sustainability in port logistics.
GENMA is a brand of Nantong Rainbow Heavy Machineries Co Ltd, operating under Rainbow Heavy Industries Co Ltd. The company specialises in port machinery, offshore equipment, and material handling systems.
