MISC Group Q2 profit drops 14.1pc

Malaysia's MISC Group's second��uarter 2025 net profit fell to RM464.4 million (US$97.5 million) from RM540.9 million a year earlier, with revenue down 18.3 per cent to RM2.721 billion, reports Saint Petersburg's PortNews.


The weaker results were blamed on reduced contributions from Marine & Heavy Engineering and Gas Assets & Solutions, hit by lower project activity, contract completions, vessel disposals and softer freight rates.


Marine & Heavy Engineering revenue slid 52 per cent year on year to RM431.6 million, while Gas Assets & Solutions fell 23.8 per cent to RM524.4 million. Petroleum & Products eased 1.7 per cent to RM1.29 billion, with the stronger ringgit also weighing.
