Tan Cang Hai Phong International Container Port has handled its one-millionth TEU container for 2025, marking a major operational milestone, reports Hanoi's VNEconomy.
The container was discharged from the vessel CSCL East China Sea, operated by Cosco, at the Lach Huyen terminal area in Hai Phong. The achievement highlights the port's growing role in northern Vietnam's maritime logistics.
Lieutenant Colonel Doan Hai Tuan, chairman of the Member Council of TC-HICT, said the port had focused on boosting operational capacity during the first nine months of 2025. This effort was reflected in improved performance indicators.
Vessel clearance productivity rose to 110 containers per hour, a 24 per cent increase over 2024. Berth waiting time dropped from 26.5 hours last year to 7.8 hours.
TC-HICT continues to hold its market share and throughput volume, reinforcing its position as one of the busiest cargo ports in the Hai Phong seaport area.
