Interasia Lines has signed a contract with Jiangsu YangZiJiang Shipbuilding Group for six 2,900-TEU container vessels, with options for two more, reports London's Logistics Manager.
The agreement, finalised August 14 at YZJ's main office, marks Interasia's first shipbuilding collaboration with the Chinese yard. The signing ceremony was attended by Brendan Williams, Special Assistant to the Executive Vice President of Interasia, and Ji Hongfei, Vice General Manager of YZJ.
The order is part of Interasia's strategy to strengthen its position in the competitive Intra-Asia market. The vessels are scheduled for delivery in 2028 and are expected to significantly boost the company's operational capacity.
Interasia said the newbuilds will support its commitment to sustainable and efficient shipping. The company aims to leverage this partnership to enhance service quality and shape the future of regional maritime logistics.
