Capital Clean Energy delivers 13,696-TEUer
Date:2026-02-02 Readers:
Capital Clean Energy Carriers Corp has delivered the 13,696-TEU Buenaventura Express to new owners, reports Taipei's Taiwan News.

The 142,411-dwt eco container vessel was built in 2023 at Hyundai Samho Industries in South Korea. The sale generated a book gain of US$4.2 million, with proceeds used to reduce debt of $84.4 million and for general corporate purposes.

The divestment aligns with CCEC's strategy to focus on gas transportation, including liquefied natural gas and emerging energy transition commodities. Since February 2024, the company has sold 14 container vessels, raising about $814.3 million.

CCEC now retains one 13,312-TEU container ship on fixed employment through 2033, with options to extend to 2039. The company's fleet includes 14 vessels, among them 12 latest-generation LNG carriers, one handy LCO2/multi-gas carrier and one neopanamax containership.

Its orderbook features nine LNG carriers, six dual-fuel medium gas carriers and three handy LCO2/multi-gas carriers, scheduled for delivery between the second quarter of 2026 and the first quarter of 2029.

CCEC said the transactions reflect its role as a leading platform for gas carriage solutions with a focus on energy transition.
