Incheon Airport hold TIACA's 2014 Air Cargo Forum
Date:2009-12-07 Readers:

The International Air Cargo Association's (TIACA) International Air Cargo Forum & Exposition in 2014 are to be hosted by Incheon International Airport in Korea, the base of its largest carrier Korea Air and the biggest gateway of the Northeast Asian market.
Incheon handles 81 per cent of Korea's total air cargo and 25 per cent of the country's total trade volume. It is so far generating 20 per cent of world GDP and 27 per cent of the world's logistics volume.
Handling more than 2.42 million tons of air cargo a year, the airport has ambitious growth forecasts to increase cargo handling capacity to seven million tons per annum by 2020, supported by continued growth in its freight infrastructure. Since commencing operations in 2001, Incheon's cargo business has achieved cumulative annual growth of 9 per cent while aircraft movements have climbed 16 per cent per year.
"We know executives in the air cargo industry prefer to attend events in the major cargo capitals of the world so Incheon International Airport is a first class host that is setting a benchmark for cargo gateways around the world," said TIACA chairman Ulrich Ogiermann.
Incheon Airport president and CEO C W Lee said the event will be a first for Korea and a golden opportunity to connect with the industry, "We want to promote and communicate our infrastructure and high service levels to as many people as possible and hosting the TIACA ACF & Exposition 2014 means Incheon Airport and Korea's air cargo industry will welcome industry leaders from across the globe."
TIACA's last ACF in Kuala Lumpur in 2008, hosted by MASkargo, attracted some 3,000 air cargo industry visitors from all over the world as well as 218 exhibitors representing all areas of the air cargo supply chain, including 68 airlines.
Prior to 2014, the biennial event will be hosted by Amsterdam Airport Schiphol in 2010 (November 2-4) followed by Atlanta in 2012 when TIACA celebrates 50 years of its International Air Cargo Forum & Exposition.
