Package delivery company FedEx Corporation said it would raise ground and home-delivery rates by an average 4.9 percent from January 4, Reuters reported.
The company previously said it would raise FedEx Express rates in 2010 by an average of 5.9 percent for US domestic and US export services.
The rate increase will be offset partially by adjusting the fuel price at which a fuel surcharge applies, FedEx said.
The company raised its ground and home delivery rates by an average of 5.9 percent for 2009.
Last month, rival United Parcel Service Inc said it would raise air and ground freight rates by an average of 4.9 percent in 2010.
