The Port of Älvenäs on lake Vänern in Swedish province Värmland could reopen for freight traffic in 2010 according to plans launched by owners CK Invest and Bertil and Lars Abrahamsson. Focus lies on products such as timber, pellets, fuel chips and pulpwood according to Bertil Abrahamsson. Three ships a week are planned with a total freight of 432,000 ton, Logistics Finland reports.
