United Continental to launch HK-Tokyo service in October

    UNITED Continental Holdings is preparing to launch daily non-stop service between Hong Kong and Tokyo, Japan effective October 31, 2011, subject to government approval.


    The new service, to be operated by Continental Airlines, will be the first expansion of the new United's operations in Hong Kong since the merger in 2010, a company statement said.


    "This new service to Tokyo marks a significant milestone for the new United as we further strengthen our extensive US network for customers in Hong Kong," said James Mueller, vice president for Asia Pacific.


    The new service will be operated by Boeing 737-800 aircraft. Flight CO008 is scheduled to depart from Hong Kong at 10:30 hrs and arrive in Narita Tokyo at 15:40 hrs. Flight CO009 is scheduled to depart from Narita at 17:05 hrs and arrive in Hong Kong at 21:15 hrs.
