AMERICA's Norfolk Southern railway has posted a 26 per cent first quarter profit increase to US$325 million drawn on operating revenues of $2.6 billion, a rise of 17 per cent.
 

    First quarter intermodal sales rose 18 per cent to $485 million, general merchandise revenue stood at $1.3 billion, an increase of 10 per cent, reported American Shipper, while coal revenue was up 30 per cent to $816 million, said its report.
