In order to respond to the innovative undergraduate education of Shanghai Maritime University and facilitate the construction of an industry-university-research base of Shanghai International Shipping Institute (SISI), SISI has been actively establishing the College Students’ Innovation Base with the strong support of Academic Affairs Office of the University. Interviews were successfully carried out in the new campus on August 29, 2011. By recruiting current students in certain majors of the University, the Base has successfully admitted six students in International Shipping and other majors, marking an initial progress of SISI in exploring the way to build a College Students’ Innovation Base.

Through special tutoring, follow-up study, forums and seminars etc, SISI will help college students improve their professional knowledge, social communication, teamwork and other abilities, gradually exploring a new model for the construction of industry-university-research bases.
