SINGAPORE's Flight Safety Foundation has announced that its board of governors elected Tay Tiang Guan, deputy director general of the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS), to join the board for a three-year term.
Mr Tay has more than 23 years of experience in civil aviation and has held key posts in CAAS. Mr Tay is responsible for the safety regulation of the aviation industry in Singapore, as well as the Singapore Aviation Academy, the training arm of CAAS.
On a regional front, he chairs the ASEAN Air Transport Working Group and is also an active member of the ICAO COSCAP-SEA programme which coordinates initiatives and technical assistance programmes to enhance aviation safety in the region.
"Mr Tay will be a key addition to our board of governors," said FSF president and CEO William Voss. "He is keenly aware of the safety challenges facing the entire region and is aggressively working to address them."
