New Express interface enhancements provide performance boost for shippers
Date:2012-01-13 Readers:

PCS Software has created a trio of new enhancements for Express––its transportation management software––that enable trucking companies to further streamline the efficiency of their operations.

These enhancements incorporate upgrades to the interfaces with Qualcomm and PeopleNet, which provide satellite tracking services. PCS’s Proximity Tracking interfaces with PeopleNet’s PACOS and Qualcomm’s Circle of Service to alert shippers, consignees and customers when a driver reaches a certain radius of the pickup or delivery location. This eliminates the need for the series of phone calls usually required for proximity notification.

Another PCS enhancement––HOS (Hours of Service) Tracking––provides real-time updates on available on-duty and available driving hours for Qualcomm- and PeopleNet-enabled drivers, enabling companies to make better dispatching decisions.

The PCS Software enhancements also include In Cab Scanning, which allows for scans to be transmitted through Qualcomm and PeopleNet, and then automatically inserted into their database. With this function, loads are ready for invoicing even before the driver has finished the trip. These augmentations to their interface partners will help PCS’s transportation clients reach new levels of productivity, while saving time and operating expenses.
