The excessive use of resources and the destruction of environment and ecosystem by human society have already posed serious threats to human survival and development as well as economic operation. For this reason, the ecological problems have drawn increasing attention. Against the backdrop of rapid economic development, the logistics industry is gradually adopting large-scale development, which however leads to signs of resource consumption and profound impacts on ecosystem. The performance-first operation model of logistics has provided a guarantee for social and economic development, but also led to serious ecological problems due to environmental destruction and excessive resource consumption. Therefore, the concept of "Green Transport and Logistics", though proposed not long ago, has been valued highly in the logistics sector for its compliance with sustainable socio-economic development in the current age. Discussing this subject on this year's "World Environment Day" will definitely promote the development of "green logistics" in China.
