On April 19, 2010, led by Zhen Hong, Professor and Secretary-General of SISI, and Cai Meiyi, Secretary-General of the Joint Meeting of Shanghai International Shipping Institute (SISI) Industrial Association, the constitute units of the Joint Meeting visited Tianjin Port Service Office for survey & research. Deputy Director Xu Fulin of the Service Office and Deputy Division Chief Hao Zhanqing of the General Division warmly received Mr. Zhen and his group.

Through survey & research, the group understood that, in order to achieve the goal of “Building Tianjin into a shipping center in north China” launched by the State Council, Tianjin has established an international trade and shipping service center in 2005, with an aim of providing a one-stop service platform, including customs, inspection and quarantine, maritime, port group, e-port and other shipping-related governmental departments and port & shipping enterprises. Base on this, concentrated, convenient and efficient customs clearance service can be provided to the entry and exit of cargo, ships and personnel in Tianjin Port.

During survey and research, the two sides made active discussions on the sharing of information and resource, the construction of free trade zones, and the functions of trade associations, etc.
