On September 14 and 15, 2011, led by Zhen Hong, Secretary-General of Shanghai International Shipping Institute (SISI), a team including Director Zhang Jieshu of Shipping Market Analysis Department, and Office Director Dai Jin, visited the Department of Water Transport of the Ministry of Transport, China Academy of Transportation Sciences, China Communications and Transportation Association and other relevant departments in Beijing.
    On the morning of September 14, Secretary-General Zhen Hong and his team visited the Divisions of Economic Operation, Domestic Shipping, International Shipping, Regulatory Agreement and Port Administration, etc. of the Department of Water Transport, the Ministry of Transport. They presented SISI’s research results such as China Shipping Prosperity Index (CSPI), shipping market analysis reports, coastal shipping capacity statistics and training arrangements, as well as conducted communications and exchanges with relevant leaders. In addition to commenting favorably on SISI’s work, relevant divisions also expressed their intentions on successive supports for SISI’s main work.
    On the morning of September 15, Secretary-General Zhen Hong and his team visited China Academy of Transportation Sciences, and were warmly welcomed by Deputy Chief Engineer Xu Ping and other leaders of the Academy. At the meeting, both sides introduced their own situations and expressed whishes to draw on each other's comparative advantages and better contribute to China’s transportation economic development through mutual cooperation in projects, forums, conferences and seminars, etc. At noon, the SISI team paid a call on Qian Yongchang, Chairman of China Communications and Transportation Association, and exchanged views on the contents of the “SISI Forum on International Port & Shipping Development 2011” to be held in November. Mr. Qian was invited to be the keynote speaker.
