THE latest figures from the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing (CFLP) show that the country's Logistics Purchasing Index (LPI) was at 53 per cent in November, down 0.6 percentage point from October, Xinhua reports.
A number of sub-indices fell, but managed to stay above the critical level of 50 per cent, which indicated that China's logistics industry is still growing but the growth has slowed.
Business volume index was at a high level of 57 per cent, though falling 0.8 percentage point over October. Capital turnover rate dropped 0.4 percentage point to 53.6 per cent.
Average inventory index and inventory turnover index both increased. The former went up 0.2 to 50.3 per cent while the latter climbed 0.3 to 51.5 per cent.
New order index fell 0.6 to 52.2 per cent. Business activity expectation index went 0.1 down to 54.8 per cent.
The business volume index and the facility utilisation rate all fell but remained above 50 per cent, meaning that the growth of the logistics industry is slowing down, said China Logistics Information Centre deputy director He Hui.
