Abu Dhabi Ports Company signs MoU with Duisport

    Abu Dhabi Ports Company (APDC) signed a MoU with Duisport in the presence of a high ranking trade mission from Germany recently. The signing, which took place at the Emirates Palace, was attended by Capt. Mohamed Juma Al-Shamisi, Vice President Ports Unit at the Abu Dhabi Ports Company and the trade delegation, under the leadership of German President Christian Wulff and in the presence of Erich Staake, President and Chief Executive Officer of Duisburger Hafen AG- Duisport.

    The MoU comes as a result of a cooperation agreement that had been set during a visit made by Erich Staake to Abu Dhabi in October 2011 and offers full service packages of infrastructure and superstructure for the Ports and logistics locations .

    Commenting on the signing, Capt. Shamisi, said: “We are delighted to welcome President Christian Wulff and Erich Staake, President and Chief Executive Officer of Duisburger Hafen AG- Duisport to Abu Dhabi. The MoU is a statement of our continued relationship with the German Federal Government and we look forward to continued cooperation between ADPC and Duisport.”

    Erich Staake, President and Chief Executive Officer of Duisburger Hafen AG- Duisport, said: "We are pleased that Duisport can provide its know-how to one of the most important ports in this rapidly developing region. This cooperation agreement represents a further important step in our internationalization strategy, which is being continually developed."
