Asia New Zealand Discussion Agreement hikes bunker surcharge May 1
Date:2011-03-31 Readers:

THE Asia New Zealand Discussion Agreement (ANZDA) has increased the bunker surcharge to US$650 per TEU and US$1,300 per FEU for dry and refrigerated containers from May 1.

This will apply to cargo to and from Japan, Korea, China, Hong Kong and Taiwan in north east Asia and Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam in south east Asia and New Zealand.

The revised bunker adjustment factor reflects recent increases in the price of oil at Hong Kong and South Korea, and based on established review procedures, ANZDA has increased the BAF using the standard formula.

Participating ANZDA members are Cosco, Hamburg Sud, MISC Berhad, MOL, NYK, OOCL and PIL.
