WORLDWIDE Flight Services (WFS) has been appointed as the official handler for the 49th International Paris Air Show at Le Bourget.
The company will provide ramp handling for all the aircraft manufacturers and exhibitors at the weeklong event, which begins on June 20. This includes marshalling, pushback, aircraft parking and servicing, cabin and exterior cleaning, technical assistance, ground power, aircraft safety and controlling the flow of aircraft.
It will locate 110 pieces of ground services equipment at Le Bourget to carry out its broad range of responsibilities as well as 150 dedicated personnel, a company statement said.
Olivier Bijaoui, executive chairman, president and CEO, said: "As a French company headquartered in Paris, we are extremely proud to have been selected to play such an important role in the success of the International Paris Air Show. We have worked closely as a partner of the event organisers since 2001 and it is very satisfying to see the continued growth of the Air Show and the huge respect it has from leading aviation and space companies from all over the world."
The company said it handles 60,000 aircraft movements a year in France alone and assists over five million passengers. It is also the country's largest cargo handling organisation.
