DB Schenker Logistics has announced that Schenker Schweiz AG will open a new location in Bern, Switzerland at the beginning of 2011.
The new office will initially specialize in global air and ocean freight solutions. "Switzerland has always played an important role in our European network due to its location," said Karl Nutzinger, a member of the management board of Schenker AG who is responsible for Land Transport and the European Region.
"But we think there is further potential to expand the market position of our national company considerably, especially in land transport and logistics," he said.
"We are certain that our presence in the Swiss plateau will attract new clientele and that we will significantly increase our market share in this area with our proven solutions," added Joerg Eggenberger, CEO Schenker Schweiz AG.
Located in Zurick, integrated logistics provider Schenker Schweiz AG has over 500 employs and a network spanning 10 locations in Switzerland.
