On May 23, 2010, the “2010 China Warehousing and Logistics Industry Cooperation and Development Forum” kicked off in the professional conference hall on the 4th Floor of Ocean Hotel Shanghai. The forum was organized by Shanghai Trade Association of Warehouses and Storage and Wuhan Logistics Association, co-organized by Shanghai International Shipping Institute (SISI), and operated by Secretariat of Shanghai Trade Association of Warehouses and Storage, Logistics Engineering and Management Magazine and SISI Shipping Service Institute. The participants included leaders from relevant governmental departments and associations; experts, professors, and top management from enterprises. They explored in the context of global economic recovery, the ways to take the opportunity of the 2010 World Expo and to seek further innovation and common development, so as to put forward views and suggestions on the development of warehousing and logistics industry.

John Tang, member of SISI Expert Committee, delivered a wonderful speech on the past, present and future of the warehousing industry. He not only presented a systematic review on the development of the warehousing industry, but also pointed out new trends and orientation for its future development, providing an important reference to industry practitioners in making administrative decisions.
