CEVA Boosts Revenue on Higher Volume
Date:2010-08-12 Readers:

CEVA Logistics boosted second quarter revenue 30 percent year-over-year to $2.244 billion on the basis of strong freight volume, particularly in the Americas and Asia Pacific, the global supply chain management company reported Thursday.

Earnings before taxes and specific items fell 5.7 percent to $83.6 million, held back by one-time startup costs for the company's contract logistics business and by compressed margins in the freight management sector as transportation costs increased.

"I am pleased to end the first half of the year with results which show continued growth of our business and progress in implementing our strategy," said CEO John Pattullo.

The contract logistics business grew especially through increased volume in the automotive, consumer & retail and technology sectors. The company said it won new business valued at $580 million.
