On February 15, 2012, Banu Kannu, project manager of NHST Events and her assistant came to visit SISI. She briefed SISI’s research team about NHST Media Group’s knockout product—TradeWinds, and discussed the possibilities of bilateral cooperation between SISI and TradeWinds.

 

NHST Events AS was established in 2006 and is part of the Norwegian news organization NHST Media Group. TradeWinds, a weekly newspaper, is the world's largest paid for shipping publication with almost 50,000 weekly readers from over 100 countries. It also runs six to seven shipping conferences annually.

 

Professor Zhang Jieshu, Deputy Secretary General of SISI, gave an introduction of SISI at the beginning of the meeting. Ms. Banu Kannu then briefed the audience on TradeWinds and the conferences it organized worldwide. Both parties felt the urge to cooperate since their dedicated domains overlap each other to some degree, and it has been their consensus that it would be a win-win situation if they can combine some of their conference organizing efforts.
