On July 11, 2011, students from Shanghai Maritime University (SMU) organized survey and research activities at Shanghai International Shipping Center (SISI) to implement the “College Students Summer Social Practice” program. Leaders and teachers present at the activities included SISI Secretary-General Prof. Zhen Hong; SISI Secretary and Deputy Secretary-General Associate Prof. Li Gang; and SISI Office Director Prof. Zhang Jieshu, etc. They expressed full recognition and support for students’ summer activities, which serve not only as an important way of knowledge learning, but also a crucial approach to independent thinking as well as problem exploring and solving abilities. Moreover, the students will be given an access to the most advanced knowledge and understand the actual application of theories, so as to develop such skills as activity organization and interpersonal communication.
