AS of October 31, Beihai Airport, in southwest China's Guangxi Autonomous Region on the Gulf of Tonkin, handled 1,400 tonnes of inbound cargo this year, a sharp increase of 170 per cent compared to the same period in 2010.
Xinhua's report said the surge of inbound freight was a result of the continuous expansion of the airport's route network and increasing flight frequencies. The fast development of e-commerce also has boosted the airport's business.
