DHL launches Italy-Kuwait sea freight consolidation link
Date:2012-01-13 Readers:

DHL Global Forwarding has established a new ocean freight service operating from Italy to Kuwait. The new less-than-container-load (LCL) offering is a direct weekly service with an improved transit time of 27 days, down from 32 days previously.

The transit time is shorter because the new LCL service bypasses transhipment in Dubai, resulting in CO2-savings of up to 12 per cent, as well, a company statement said.

"We are always striving to offer our customers better services to meet their ever changing business needs," said Europe, Middle East and Africa CEO Thomas Nieszner.

"Kuwait imports a wide range of goods from Italy ?everything from mechanical machinery, construction materials and mineral products, to fashion, food and consumer goods. Demand for these products is set to rise further as Kuwait continues to emerge as a key player in the region."
