On March 15, 2010, China's port expert Mao Boke, Researcher (Division Level) of Transport Guarantee & Coordination Division under Shanghai Municipal Transport and Port Authority was invited as the gust professor of Shanghai Maritime University (SMU). SISI Secretary-General Zhen Hong and Deputy Secretary-General Li Gang granted him a certificate on behalf of SMU.

Mr. Mao Boke is an investigator of Shanghai Municipal Transport and Port Authority; deputy secretary general of Nautical History Committee, China Institute of Navigation; convener of the Secretariat, Yangtze River Delta Port Development Research Center of Fudan University; and deputy secretary general of Shanghai Ship Owners’ Association. He was once the deputy department chief of Publicity Department, Shanghai International Port (Group) Co., Ltd.; director of Shanghai Port Information Book Compilation Office; deputy secretary general of China Ports & Harbors Association; and editor-in-chief of China Ports. His research project achievements mainly include: 1. chief editor of History of Shanghai Port published by China Communications Press, winner of the second prize of National Excellent Works of Water-borne Transportation History; 2. one of the lead authors of Research on Shanghai Comprehensive Transportation Development, winner of the first prize of Decision-making Consultation Award of Shanghai Municipal Government; 3. first author of Research on Modernized Development Strategy of Waterway Transportation in Shandong Province; 4. deputy chief editor of Catalogue of China’s Modern Ports published by China Communications Press in 1999; 5. one of the lead authors of Research on Integrated Development of Urban Three Dimensional Traffic System in Shanghai, winner of the second prize of Decision-making Consultation Award of Shanghai Municipal Government; 6. one of the lead authors of Research on Modern Logistics Development Planning and Implementation Schemes in Zhangjiagang Municipality.
