Yu Shicheng, Secretary & President of Shanghai Maritime University and Director of SISI, and Zhen Hong, Secretary-General of SISI, as well as other experts were invited to attend the First China International Shipping Culture Festival themed "Recovery and Revitalization of the Shipping Industry" on January 27, 2010. Themed "striving for building an international shipping center capable of allocating global shipping resources", the keynote speech delivered by Professor Yu won warm applause.
The First China International Shipping Culture Festival received extensive supports from over ten national associations such as China Communications and Transportation Association. With great supports and assistance from Hongkou District Government, China Shipping Annual Conference jointly organized by China Shipping Gazette and Advanced Media had been held successfully for three times in Shanghai.
The First China International Shipping Culture Festival aimed to "explore the spiritual connotations of shipping industry development to boost the confidence and determination of shipping practitioners; and carry forward advanced cultural concepts of shipping enterprises to promote the recovery and revitalization of the shipping industry". With prominent cultural features and deliberately created atmosphere, the festival provided a relaxing space for national and overseas business leaders and shipping elites to learn to be better and exchange ideas. Meanwhile, it served as a perfect stage for shipping enterprises to display their cultural development achievements and the practitioners’ mental outlook.
