The delegation organized by So Ping-chi, convener of the Hong Kong Maritime Forum (HKMF), came to visit Shanghai International Shipping Institute (SISI) on March 22, 2013. The two sides held a seminar on Shipping Development Strategy and Practice of Shanghai & Hong Kong.
Hong Kong Maritime Forum which represents 23 organizations out of more than 40 maritime-related bodies in Hong Kong, including representatives from ship owners, unions, shipbrokers, insurers, maritime colleges and logistics groups, has formed to look at specific issues including training and maritime-related policies to reinforce and enhance Hong Kong's status as an international center for shipping.
Professor Zhen, Secretary General of SISI, first sent a warm welcome to Hong Kong delegation and briefed on SISI’s organization structure, core research reports and various research projects. Then, the two sides conducted a deep discussion and exchange on shipping center construction of Shanghai and Hong Kong.
