On the basis of the Statistic Manual for the Construction of Shanghai International Shipping Center, this study compares the construction of advanced shipping centers at home and abroad, and points out the weak links and key points in building the Shanghai international shipping center. It emphasizes the difficulties in obtaining indicators related with the modern shipping service industry, explores and establishes a reasonable and feasible method of shipping indicator statistics, and proposes the path and suggestions for data acquisition.
