On the morning
of January, 14th, 2015, the first panel
related to China in the history of Transportation Research Board named China's
World Trade Perspective was held at Washington
Convention Center.
This session was
planned and presented by Shanghai International Shipping Institute (SISI),
inviting experts and scholars from Shanghai Maritime University, China Academy
of Transportation Sciences, U.S Merchant Marine Academy and Shanghai Shipping
Exchange to deliver speeches on such topics as China’s
economic development and the role of international trade, shipping policy development,
shipping industry development, port development and PRC green port policy and features
and functions of container freight index. Then, the audience had a
heated discussion with lecturers.
As one of the
six branches of National Research Council, Transportation Research Board offers
independent decision-making consultation services to federal government.
Annually held in January in Washington, Transportation Research Board (TRB) Annual
Meeting boasts the most prestigious international academic conference in the
field of transportation with more than 10 000 participants including federal
and local government officials, scholars from worldwide universities and industry
experts.
In addition, SISI
delegation, led by Director Yu Shicheng, also paid a visit to headquarter of Liberian
Corporate Registry and both sides had an in-depth
discussion on issues of mutual interest.
