UPS and FedEx are put to the test this record-breaking peak season
Date:2015-12-18 Readers:

UPS and FedEx are on track to handle a record number of packages this peak season driven by the increasing popularity in e-commerce, and so far they are keeping up with demand.

Analysis by ShipMatrix, a company that tracks millions of packages, showed that UPS's ground packages were delivered on time 91 per cent of the time the week after Cyber Monday on November 30, while FedEx achieved 95 per cent on-time delivery that same week.

UPS said it expected to deliver 630 million packages between Black Friday on November 27 and New Year's Eve, an increase of 10 per cent over the same period in 2014. FedEx anticipates it will deliver 317 million packages globally between Black Friday and Christmas Eve, up 12.4 per cent year on year, reported Atlanta area Air Cargo World.
