APMT Pipavav contracts L&T, Van Oord for jetty works
Date:2025-08-14 Readers:
APM Terminals Pipavav has awarded construction and dredging contracts for Berth 6 at Gujarat's Pipavav Port, reported Saint Petersburg's PortNews.

The firm signed with L&T Geostructure Pvt. Ltd. to build a dedicated liquid cargo jetty and associated marine infrastructure. Simultaneously, Van Oord India Pvt. Ltd. will carry out capital dredging and land reclamation works.

Pipavav Port is operated by Gujarat Pipavav Port Ltd, a public limited company under a concession agreement valid through September 2028. APM Terminals, a subsidiary of A.P. Moller-Maersk, holds a controlling stake and manages terminal operations.

The facility currently handles up to 1.35 million TEUs, 4 million tonnes of dry bulk and 2 million tonnes of liquid bulk annually. The new jetty development aims to boost its liquid cargo handling capacity.

L&T Geostructure is a marine infrastructure and engineering firm wholly owned by Larsen & Toubro Ltd, while Van Oord India is the local arm of Netherlands-based Van Oord NV, specialising in maritime civil works.
